Documents and calculations

SimpleFlick does not upload your PDF files, page previews, calculation inputs, passwords or results to its processing servers. Content Guard scans document pages locally before PDF processing. It is an automated content check, not a guarantee that a file is safe or correctly classified.

Local saving

Language, theme, favorite and recent tools, GPA settings, analytics choice and random voting identifiers can be saved in this browser. The civil notebook saves solution inputs and results locally only when you press Save. Clearing browser data removes these saved items. Export your notebook before clearing it. Unsaved open files and form values are lost on reload.

Public activity and voting

Successful-use, sharing and voting requests send a tool or request ID, event type and a random browser identifier to SimpleFlick. The server hashes identifiers and request-network metadata for duplicate prevention and rate limiting. Vote states and counts are retained for public counters. These are browser-level signals, not verified unique people. Clearing a browser identifier does not remove a previously submitted vote.

Visitor counter

The small homepage counter estimates distinct network addresses across all site pages since activation, not verified people or page views. Our own Netlify Function converts the platform-provided public IP into an HMAC-SHA-256 value using a randomly generated server-only secret. Only that pseudonymous membership value is retained in Netlify Blobs; the counter does not store raw IPs, MAC addresses, page history, user agents, files, calculation inputs or results. It creates no cookies or browser identifiers. Normal hosting logs are separate and may contain connection metadata.

A repeated visit from the same public IP counts once, across pages and languages. Shared Wi-Fi or a VPN can group different people; an IP change can count one person again. Known automated user agents are excluded where recognized, but automated traffic cannot be completely eliminated. The public total is refreshed periodically and starts from zero when enabled; no historical traffic is invented.

This first-party public counter is separate from optional Google Analytics. It skips new submissions when you decline analytics or send a supported Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Before a choice is made, the cookie-free counter may record an eligible visit. Declining stops future submissions, but cannot recall an in-flight request or erase previously counted visits. Membership hashes and the secret persist for the lifetime of the counter to prevent recounting; the operator can delete the dedicated store to erase/reset it.

Optional Google Analytics

The Google Analytics script is loaded only after you allow analytics. It receives page paths, language and selected tool-interaction metadata, not your files or calculation content. Query strings, free-text questions and calculation results are excluded from our analytics events. Advertising signals are disabled. You can decline or change your choice using Analytics settings in the footer. Revoking permission stops new app analytics events; a request already in flight cannot be recalled.

Libraries and hosting

PDF, QR and content-classification engines are served with the site. Google Fonts supplies interface fonts. Opening Flick can load a graphics library from jsDelivr. These providers and the hosting network receive ordinary connection metadata such as an IP address when serving assets. File contents and calculation values are not included in these asset requests.

Shared devices and study use

Saved solutions remain available to other people using this browser profile. Avoid saving sensitive information on shared devices. Parents and educators should review privacy choices before enabling analytics for children.
